Public Schools Seat

Qualified candidates are: 1) Affiliated with a public school in the Brentwood community (e.g. involved parent, teacher, or administrator). 2) Willing to serve a two-year term and committed to representing the interests of Brentwood’s public schools on the BCC. 3) Able to act as liaison with other public schools in Brentwood, co-chair yearly Student Civic Award. E-mail access is required. Also expected is regular attendance at the BCC meetings held at 7:00 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month at the Brentwood Kaufman Library, and willingness to participate on committees. Annual dues are $100.

Private Schools Seat

Qualified candidates are: 1) Affiliated with a private school in the Brentwood community (e.g. involved parent, teacher, or administrator). 2) Willing to serve a two-year term and committed to representing the interests of Brentwood’s private schools on the BCC. 3) Able to act as liaison with other private schools in Brentwood, co-chair yearly Student Civic Award. E-mail access is required. Also expected is regular attendance at the BCC meetings held at 7:00 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month at the Brentwood Kaufman Library, and willingness to participate on committees. Annual dues are $100.

Multi-Family Housing

Qualified candidates must reside in apartments or condominiums and commit to a two-year term representing the best interests of multi-family housing constituents and serving as a liaison between constituents and the BCC. E-mail access is required. Also expected is regular attendance at the BCC meetings held at 7:00 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month at the Brentwood Kaufman Library, and willingness to participate on committees. Annual dues are $100.

Public Safety

Qualified candidates commit to a two-year term advocating the best interests of the community re: public safety; acting as a resource in providing safety information to the community; serving as a liaison with LAPD Sr. Lead Officer and other safety personnel, as needed. Experience in Neighborhood Watch, CERT, Disaster Preparedness, and WLA Community-Police Advisory Bd. is beneficial. E-mail access is required. Also expected is regular attendance at the BCC meetings held at 7:00 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month at the Brentwood Kaufman Library, and willingness to participate on committees. Annual dues are $100.

Environmental

Qualified candidates commit to a two-year term and consist of any of the following: 1) members of non-profits specifically focused on green space projects. These include Brentwood 90049 (responsible for the Coral Trees), Brentwood Beautiful (San Vicente sidewalk trees), Brentwood Green, and Veterans Park Conservancy. 2) Individuals with organizational and fund raising skills with an interest in Brentwood nature/environmental issues and 3) individuals with knowledge of trees and/or hands-on gardening and volunteer time.
E-mail access is required. Also expected is regular attendance at the BCC meetings held at 7:00 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month at the Brentwood Kaufman Library, and willingness to participate on committees. Annual dues are $100.

San Vicente Business District

Qualified candidates commit to a two-year term representing the best interests of the businesses on San Vicente Boulevard and serving as a liaison between those businesses and the BCC. E-mail access is required. Also expected is regular attendance at the BCC meetings held at 7:00 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month at the Brentwood Kaufman Library, and willingness to participate on committees. Annual dues are $100.

Member-at-Large

Qualified candidates commit to a two-year term representing the best interests of the community at large without allegiance to any single organization, and serving as a liaison between the community at large and the BCC. E-mail access is required. Also expected is regular attendance at the BCC meetings held at 7:00 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month at the Brentwood Kaufman Library, and willingness to participate on committees. Annual dues are $100.

Ministerial/Congregational

Qualified candidates commit to a two-year term representing the best interests of local congregations and serving as a liaison between the constituent groups and the BCC. E-mail access is required. Also expected is regular attendance at the BCC meetings held at 7:00 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month at the Brentwood Kaufman Library, and willingness to participate on committees. Annual dues are $100.

Civic/Cultural/Nonprofits

Qualified candidates commit to a two-year term advocating on the BCC for local stakeholders in civic/cultural/nonprofit organizations, plus managing communication to/from the organizations, the BCC and the community as a whole. Knowledge of social media platforms is required, such as how to create an outreach campaign using Facebook or Twitter and/or a willingness to learn those skills quickly. E-mail access is required. Also expected is regular attendance at the BCC meetings held at 7:00 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month at the Brentwood Kaufman Library, and willingness to participate on committees. Annual dues are $100.
